Job descriptionCreating offline robot simulations Commissioning and debugging machines at client sites Setting up robot safety / standard IO communications Programming multiple robot applications (welding, material handling, glue / sealer, vision) Troubleshooting electrical / mechanical and fluid power systems Simulation of robots with 3D models using various software Take an active role in learning other core integration skills or expanding on skills, such as : Electrical and fluid power designs using EPLAN and AutoCAD Motion control systems using Rockwell, Siemens, Bosch Peripheral systems including vision systems, marking systems, weld systems, etc. Additional robot programming and set-up using ABB, Fanuc, Motoman, Nachi, Kuka, etc. Support Team Leads by : Reporting to and collaborating with various levels of the RTA team Monitoring small projects including project costs, scope, and schedules Ensure project documentation is accurate, complete, current, and stored appropriately Work with other team members to develop and maintain systems to promote efficiencies and to strive for constant improvement Remain current with, and be able to find, applicable standards, codes, and rules as they relate to the work being done Purchase hardware and materials for projects in accordance with RidgeTech policies Travel both locally and internationally to support clients as required (although not always regular, the potential for travel does exist and at times be extensive) Support clients during regular hours, after hours and on weekends as required Support Managers and sales staff at technical reviews and client presentations Maintain a constant lookout for potential projects and work for RidgeTech Adhere to the RidgeTech Automation Inc. company policies as outlined in the Team Member Handbook, including submitting timesheets and service reports accurately and on time Maintain and develop technical and professional knowledge by attending training courses, supplier information sessions, webinars, etc. to remain current on the latest industry practices and technologies Utilize non-chargeable time in an efficient and productive manner through the development of training modules, pursuit of new technologies and through creating and participating in R&D projects Other relevant tasks / duties as assigned Requires a post-secondary degree / diploma in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Robotics & Automation, or similar education. Requires strong mechanical and electrical aptitudes and at least 1 year of experience in the automation industry, specifically relating to electrical drawing review, standard coding practices for PLC / HMI / Robotic systems, motion control and other devices typically found in industrial control systems Robot programming experience with Fanuc, Kuka, Motoman, or ABB is required Must be a quick learner and a highly motivated team player, with strong analytical / problem-solving skills Possess a positive attitude and be able to communicate well with both clients and team members Must be able to manage and organize time and tasks efficiently Able to work both independently and in a team environment and be able to coordinate effectively with other groups Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Robotic welding (spot or MIG) would be an asset Programming experience with current PLC, HMI, VFD, SCADA, and motion control is an asset Must have the ability to work with and interest to learn a multitude of vendors hardware and software Should be able to manage stress created by unequal workloads and maintain a persistent and pleasant disposition with clients and other team members Hold and maintain a valid passport with the ability to travel abroad without restrictions Hold and maintain a valid Class G drivers license Access to reliable and dependable transportation Competitive pay based on experience level Variety in work opportunities (industries, platforms, types of projects) Group health & dental plan Vacation time & paid personal days (which grow with years of service) Profit sharing RRSP match program Wellness & safety accounts Paid training opportunities Travel rewards Cell phone allowance Professional growth opportunities & mentorship Social events & giveaways Generous recruiting referral bonus This is a full-time position at 40-44 hours per week; any additional hours will be based on client requirements, which will be compensated according to company policy (i.e. overtime, double time, shift premium) Work hours will depend on assigned work, with clients who may require specific onsite hours Flex hours or remote work may be permitted depending on work and team requirements Onsite client support after hours or during weekends may be required Team Members must be able to work from the office in Cambridge, Ontario This position requires local and international travel, depending on project requirements : Travel outside of this area may arise for additional projects, training, or to support local opportunities Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis or until the applicable deadline We use BambooHR as our HRIS to manage applications received and follow up with candidates RTA does not use this or any other system for artificial intelligence during the hiring process Updates regarding applications are sent directly via e-mail from BambooHR (please check your spam / junk folder if you have not received an update, and updates will not be provided for duplicate applications) The hiring process typically involves the following steps : Interview with the hiring lead; other team members or Leadership may join depending on the position level Reference check or additional background check as required If you require accommodation or assistance during the hiring process, please contact Be Safety Centric A Team with Strong Communication Provide Quality Services Integrity in Everything We Do

Do you have robot programming experience within the Controls and Industrial Automation industry? Do you have strong mechanical and electrical aptitudes as they relate to PLC / HMI / robotic systems, motion control and devices typically found in industrial control systems? If this sounds like you, wed love to hear from you!
Reporting to the Systems Integration Manager, you will be responsible for configuration and set-up for both small and large-scale robotics projects. Depending on specific project requirements, this role may work independently or as part of a team and report to other levels of Control Systems Specialists or Team Leads.
Job Summary
- Primarily responsible for configuration and set-up for both small and large-scale robotics projects, including but not limited to :
Configuring and developing motion programs
PLC & HMI software development using Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Omron, Toyopuc
Communicating project schedule requirements or upcoming project needs
