Redevelopment Financial Analyst

Southbridge Health Care LP owns and operates several long-term care and retirement Homes throughout many urban and rural areas of Ontario. We are currently seeking a Redevelopment Financial Analyst to support our Finance Operations team. Reporting to the Manager, Corporate and Redevelopment Finance, the role will be involved in all aspects of finance and accounting for the property redevelopment aspects of the business. This role will be involved at various depths with financial reporting, accounting, tax, treasury, and compliance.

This role is eligible for hybrid work schedule. This position requires reliable internet access and the ability to participate in video calls and team collaboration tools. Standard business hours with occasional need for additional hours during peak periods.

Responsibilities:

• Independently prepare various journal entries and bank reconciliations for review
• Prepare reports for development projects on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, in coordination with the Redevelopment and Finance Operations team.
• Assist in preparation of various analyses and reports for senior management to support business decision making
• Compute Input Tax credit on redevelopment projects monthly
• Provide support for the interim and year-end audit.
• Identify and suggest improvements in accounting & financial reporting and other processes
• Other duties as required.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• CPA student is an asset but not required.
• Advanced Excel skills an asset
• Strong financial accounting background with experience in preparation of working papers an asset.
• Strong analytical, comprehensive and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and prioritize workload accordingly
• Self-motivated and proactive, with respect to both managing workload and professional development.
• Financial systems experience, specifically Sage Intacct is an asset
• An understanding of the senior care continuum is considered an asset
