We are seeking a Category Manager to join our Product Development team at Glen Dimplex Americas. This role owns the entire product lifecycle from concept to launch, driving market-focused strategies and category growth. As a strategic, customer-centric leader, you will shape our product portfolio and strengthen competitive advantage. Working closely with engineering, design, marketing, supply chain, and sales, you will deliver innovative, commercially successful products. The ideal candidate combines strategic insight with strong analytical skills, leading cross‑functional teams to optimize product performance and drive initiatives that boost customer satisfaction and profitability.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a multi‑year product roadmap aligned with market trends, customer needs, and business objectives
- Identify opportunities for new product categories, features, and designs that differentiate the brand in the marketplace
- Conduct competitive analysis and market research to inform strategic decisions
- Gather insights from homeowners, designers, builders, retailers, and dealers to uncover pain points and emerging trends
- Translate feedback into clear product requirements and compelling business cases.
- Collaborate with industrial designers to define aesthetic and functional direction for new products
- Evaluate concepts and prototypes for design value, user experience, and market fit.
- Work closely with engineering to convert requirements into viable designs while maintaining clarity of intent
- Partner with marketing and sales on go‑to‑market strategies, product positioning, and launch plans
- Coordinate with supply chain and manufacturing to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets
- Manage product lifecycle decisions, including refreshes, enhancements, and retirement strategies
- Balance innovation with cost‑effectiveness and operational feasibility
- Align product mix with channel needs (big‑box, specialty retail, builder, distribution).
- Lead and mentor a high‑performing product development team
- Present strategies and business cases to executive leadership
- Serve as a spokesperson for product vision internally and externally
Qualifications & Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Product Management, Marketing, Business Merchandising, or a related field8+ years of experience in product management or product development within consumer goods, appliances, home improvement, or décor‑related industriesProven success in launching design‑driven products and managing product roadmaps across multiple categoriesStrong understanding of market dynamics, customer insights, and trend analysis.Solid business acumen with expertise in pricing strategies, product positioning, and commercializationExceptional communication, presentation, and cross‑functional leadership skillsExperience working within global manufacturing environments (North America and Asia)Familiarity with smart home integration and digital product features, considered an assetExperience collaborating with big‑box retail partners, designers, and buildersProficiency in category analytics tools and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI)Total Rewards
