Senior Electrical Engineer & Project Manager
This position is part of our Energy Storage Solutions team (ESS) and serves as a key player in developing high‑value solutions for energy storage, micro‑grid management, and power‑distribution projects. The role encompasses technology concepts, overall system architecture, applications, and integration with customer electrical, electrochemical, and automation systems. It also includes Engineering‑to‑Order (ETO) project management—from order booking through commissioning—focusing on North American markets and regulations.
Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
- Act as the technical expert member of the Energy Storage Solutions team for North America.
- Serve as the technical liaison between the local team, Global R&D, and Engineering organization.
- Provide technical support (remote or on‑site) for customer requests at every project stage.
- Evaluate technical feasibility, risks, and challenges of projects and propose solutions according to established procedures and standards.
- Analyze data and interpret power‑system studies; propose complementary studies and conduct site audits to develop viable business solutions.
- Design and integrate energy‑storage and microgrid systems, including sizing, architecture, standards, and risk assessments.
- Define and validate operating modes for on‑grid services and microgrid management, including power generation from diesel, solar, or other renewables.
- Develop and maintain technical specifications and project documentation.
- Perform power‑system engineering analyses (coordination of protection, short‑circuit calculations, arc‑flash hazard analysis, power‑flow, grounding, and harmonics).
- Design single‑line diagrams, schematics, wiring tables, and layouts.
- Prepare technical documentation and develop test plans; conduct tests, prepare reports, and present results to the team.
- Ensure ETO project management : T&C and MSA conformity with internal policy and legal support.
- Handle invoicing according to defined milestones.
- Plan, schedule, and allocate resources.
- Design cost‑effective solutions aligned with commercial proposals.
- Manage subcontractors and oversee document package delivery.
- Transfer knowledge to the services team to support commissioning and maintenance contracts.
- Manage guarantees and procurement forecasts for system allocations.
- Collaborate with Business Development, Accounting, Finance, Procurement, Production, Services, and Marketing departments.
- Participate in continuous organizational improvement (e.g., Drive the projects Return on Experience - ROX).
Essential Qualifications, Knowledge And Skills
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (automation knowledge an additional advantage).P.Eng. designation or in‑progress eligibility is an asset.10+ years’ experience in project management, design, and deployment (energy storage, power generation, renewables, power distribution, power conversion, switchgear, UPS, static transfer switches, inverters, etc.).Experience with standards and codes related to energy storage, renewables, and low‑voltage installations.Strong technical expertise in power systems, system integration, automation, and architecture.Proficiency in electrical power‑system study software.Knowledge of medium‑voltage installations an additional advantage.Safety as a core value.Excellent computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office.Strong English verbal and written communication skills.Strong technical writing skills; able to create concise technical documentation for energy‑storage electrical systems and related products.Thrives in a fast‑paced, innovative environment with multiple interdependent technologies.Demonstrates initiative and passion for results.Resourceful, innovative, and energetic.Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.Solid project‑management and organizational skills.Working Conditions
