Senior Purchasing Officer

Overview

Are you a procurement professional with experience in running a competitive procurement process, contract drafting and negotiations, and vendor management? We have opportunities for Senior Buyers (Senior Purchasing Officers), who will be authorized to make contractual commitments for the acquisition of commodities.

You'll be responsible to ensure the integrity of the acquisition process and maximize acquisition strategies. Your activities will include coordinating projects, monitoring, and maintaining vendor performance, creating contractual documents, and conducting negotiations while responding to both external and internal clients in a high-pressure environment.

Where you'll work

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines working remotely, and in our offices based on the operational needs of the position.

For this position, the successful candidate is required to work 2 days per week in our Richmond office.

What you'll do

• Manage a portfolio of contracts ensuring timely sourcing or renewal
• Arrange necessary project resources to ensure the clients' requirements are met by creating and monitoring procurement timelines and preparing associated bid documents
• Plan, lead, and facilitate the procurement process in multi-disciplinary procurement project team meetings
• Conduct and coordinate pre-bid meetings, on site tours, and act as a mediator in representing WorkSafeBC interests and vendor fair play
• Prepare, write, and review legal contracts and analyze contracts for potential problems and opportunities for a range of goods and services.

Salary : $41.56-$52.35 / hourly
