Our North Vancouver client is looking to hire an experienced Senior Financial Analyst. Reporting directly to the Director, Operations Finance.
The Senior Financial Analyst is part of the Operations Finance Business Partner organization supporting the Manufacturing and Construction team.
This role will interact regularly with individuals and management in Operations and other Functions.
Duties and Accountabilities
- Analyses weekly labor performance against production management baseline (PMB) budget.
- Assists Control Account Managers prepare quarterly Estimate at Completion (EAC) forecasting.
- Prepares weekly, monthly, and quarterly variance reports against PMB and EAC.
- Develops and prepares practical operational metrics tracking against the PMB and EAC.
- Provides Program Controls team support during the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting consolidation
- Assists in the development of analytical reporting to improve Operations understanding / requirements in support of Earned Value Management (EVM) analyses process
- Performs additional ad hoc analyses and other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements :
Education / Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or Finance.
- Trades Certificate combined with sufficient and relevant work experience may be considered.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, business / financial analysis working in a complex multi-project or program environment.
- Knowledge of Government of Canada standard project controls principles, guidelines and EVMS process is required.
- Member of Project Management Professional Body (APM, PMI) or MBA is an asset, but not crucial.
- Completion of a professional accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA, CPA), Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) or MBA is an asset.
Skills, Knowledge, and Required Competencies
- Ability to capture and synthesize data into relevant metrics and measures for analysis.
- Proficient level understanding of EVM and Risk Analyses Techniques in a manufacturing and construction environment.
- Knowledge of EVMS principles and their application in monitoring, measuring, reporting, and controlling work activities.
- Ability to work well under pressure, be a problem solver, and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Excellent oral and written communications, including the ability to connect with others with tact and diplomacy.
- Expert proficiency in Excel and proficiency in other MS-Office products.
- Experience using an ERP system in a large manufacturing environment.
- Experience using BI tools (SAP BI, Power BI or equivalent).
- Ability to work with limited direction and function as a vital team member.
