INDIGENOUS LEADERSHIP MENTOR COACH FULL-TIME 100% TERM The Indigenous Leadership Mentor Coach will work with divisional staff and families to support the leadership growth and development of Indigenous students and Indigenous staff.

The Indigenous Leadership Mentor Coach will work in collaboration with the Indigenous Education Team to develop, lead, and promote divisional programming, providing robust learning opportunities for Indigenous students, staff, and community.

The Indigenous Leadership Mentor Coach will lead and support the implementation of Mamahtawisiwin : The Wonder We Are Born With.

They will support and collaborate with staff to enhance inclusivity, identity building, belonging, and well-being for Indigenous students and staff.

The Indigenous Leadership Mentor Coach position will be a part of the Division’s Indigenous Education Team under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Indigenous Education.

  • Start Date : September 3, 2024 Duties : Develop, plan, coordinate, and implement divisional programming for Indigenous Education Set goals and targets for divisional programming in Indigenous Education for student leadership and growth Enhance Indigenous student success through programming aligning with Mamahtawisiwin : The Wonder We Are Born With Develop, enhance, and deliver the In School Grandmother Grandfather Initiative Increase Indigenous staff leadership development through coordination of the Professional Network of Indigenous Educators (PNIE) Support divisional committees in providing quality, robust Indigenous leadership learning opportunities for all staff, students and community Collaborate with the Indigenous Education Team Increase Indigenous student engagement through leadership and identity building Increase Indigenous staff belonging, well-being, and leadership capacity Increase credit opportunities for Indigenous high school students Increase access to land, language, and culture for Indigenous students and staff Prepare communication and submit reports as required Qualifications : Minimum five years’ Classroom teaching experience Strong understanding and knowledge of research and evidence-based strategies for Indigenous leader development;
  • Experience planning and facilitating Indigenous learning experiences for students and adult learners Knowledge and experience working with Indigenous students, family and community;
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability working with adult learners; strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving strategies;
