Planner (12months contract)
Ballard's Planning Group has an immediate opening for a Planner (12 months contract) who will be supporting the team to drive quality, process improvements and monitoring cost variances while maintaining on-time schedules.
The successful candidate will work cross-functionally to support delivery of sub-assemblies and finished goods using our ERP and supplemental software tools.
This position will be located at our Burnaby facility.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the end-to-end material planning process including demand planning, capacity planning, historical usage analysis for assigned production line(s)
- Maintaining monthly OTD (On Time Delivery) metrics
- Manage internal custom orders process (ICRs)
- Follow up with production team leads and planners for status of ICRs and WOs
- Data review and analysis for shortage reports
- Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple products
- Make decisions on issues and able to review MRP forecasts, work order schedules, complex workflows, find discrepancies and help in resolving them in an effective way
- Prepare and share shipping / production reports on weekly basis
- Investigate production problem, analyze root causes, and provide solutions.
- Adhere to company standards and production policies to meet company objectives.
- Create, update, and maintain planning process documentation
Requirements
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in forecasting, production, demand / inventory planning and supply chain management in hi-tech manufacturing environment is required
- Knowledge of multi-level bills of material structuring required
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- APICS certification is an asset
- Knowledge and experience of working with different MRP / ERP systems
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft office products such as Excel pivot tables required
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to OTD targets and owning assigned targets
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, showing timely, accurate and succinct delivery of information
- Strong time management skills, managing multiple priorities
- Detail oriented, highly organized, and able to work independently
The typical hiring range for this position is CAD$60,000 - CAD$80,000 per annum. In determining total compensation, Ballard considers many factors, including the successful Candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, position location, and internal equity.
