Transportation Coordinator

What YOU Will Do

• Work with existing and / or new suppliers to find innovative solutions for routing and / or storing equipment and goods to logistics centers, suppliers and job sites;
• Negotiate transportation and customs clearance costs and rates;
• Write purchase orders and verify invoices for purchases made..;
• Coordinate shipments and maximize their consolidation in order to minimize transportation costs while maximizing service to our customers (worksites);
• Ensure at all times that the necessary material (lifting equipment) and human resources are available for loading and unloading;
• Prepare all necessary documentation for the purchase of transports (purchase order) and ensure that all required documents (transport tickets, permits, etc.
• are produced / supplied to guarantee the safety and legality of all transports;
• Coordinate all imports of equipment and goods from outside the country. Research and propose efficient and cost-effective transport and customs clearance solutions. Negotiate costs and rates;
• Coordinate all activities with the various parties involved (category specialists, customers (projects), suppliers, customs brokers, carriers, etc.

until delivery of equipment and / or goods at destination.

Ensure that equipment and products are shipped and received on schedule

What YOU Will Bring

What you'll bring

• You have a background in logistics and transport or a related field.
• 5 years' experience in a similar position
• Specific experience related to the transportation of heavy equipment : excavators, off-highway trucks, loaders, bulldozers, graders, cranes, drills, etc.
• Experience in provincial and federal jurisdictions related to equipment transportation

You have other assets :

• Knowledge of MS Office software, particularly Excel and Outlook
• Fluency in both official languages (English and French).
