In this role, you will :
Manage 1-2 direct reportsBe responsible for the occupational Health & Safety of all direct reports under your supervisionSupport the Project Manager-Major Projects in the day-to-day management of project performance by :
Supporting the material planning, execution, and close-out of all project activities.Defining requirements for the functions, for material delivery to the projectManaging material scope, deliverables, and change for assigned activitiesHelping develop and lead the implementation of full-scale material management / execution plansManaging costs and budgets, through effective engagement with functional group stakeholdersDeveloping and supporting project schedules, including the definition and achievement of key events cardinal dates and strategy to supply materials to productionEnsuring the project follows required quality assurance commitments in material managementMonitoring and reporting on progress of the project to appropriate stakeholders through the development of effective performance management tools for materialsSupport execution of the project management cycle from beginning to end stagesBe an active member of the Project Management Team in developing and communicating strategies and plans, including setting objectives across the organization to meet program goalsCoordinate stakeholders, service providers, and subcontractors to deliver on project commitmentsEnsure that active risk and opportunity management is employed to reduce the impact on schedule and develop recovery plans when issues ariseIntegrate the Functional Teams, including Production, Commissioning, Engineering, Planning, and Quality to ensure systems are handed over and set to work seamlesslyPerform project reviews to evaluate performance, define progress, identify problems and their solutions, and develop reports to regularly communicate findingsImplement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputsDevelop and deliver performance improvement initiatives while supporting other departments to identify and deliver on their own initiatives in support of the project goalsCarry out reviews of functions / departments processes, to ensure alignment with project requirements.Drive and own continuous improvement initiativesPerform other duties as necessaryThe ideal candidate brings :
Have a post secondary education in an Engineering or Project Management discipline or an equivalent combination of education and / or experienceHave a minimum of 6 years’ experience supporting the delivery of major projects or operationsHave exceptional communication skills and an aptitude for developing collaborative solutionsHave experience in complex project environments, preferably within the marine industryHave knowledge of :
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systemsQuality Assurance and Quality Control processes and systemsPlanning, Scheduling, Earned ValueRiskProject Management ControlsRegistration with an appropriate Professional body, such as the Project Management Institute (PMI) is considered an assetYou are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR ClearanceBabcock is committed to promoting a workforce without boundaries.
