What You'll Do Here
The Project Engineer- Fabrication will provide technical support for fabrication including constructability reviews, procurement, welding and assembly, inspection and shipment of manufactured items. This role is located in Brantford, ON. The following responsibilities are included :
Prepare specifications to establish scope, functional design, codes and standards, schedule and deliverables through preparation of a Aecon Technical Specification (ATS) as directed by the Project ManagerPrepare procedures and work instructions that control aspects of document control, fabrication and inspectionProvide input to risk assessment from an engineering perspectiveAssist in proposal / Estimate / RFQ preparation as required by the Proposal ManagerReview Customer specifications and design documentsIdentify level of engineering risk items– FOAKs, performance guarantees, etc. that may impact execution strategy, required oversight, or project costSelection and assignment of Quality Assurance program for procured itemsConstructability review supportDesign challenges / review and design progress review to ensure value engineering concepts and constructability are integrated with the engineering product and the product is meeting the contract requirementsCommunicate and ensure incorporation of constructability elements in the designFacilitate resolution of unusual or difficult issues (NCRs and CARs) related to the engineering / FabricationMay review and approve as-required, any dispositions for NCR’s and Field Initiated Changes (FICs), etc., that may impact constructability and cost. Monitors and reviews dispositions with design partnersMay assist PM with Change Request disposition and approvalReviews and / or approves work packages for design complianceMay provide oversight or reviews red-line drawings and coordination of final as-builtsSupports the preparation and / or approves final turnover documents including final as-builts and close-out documentsWhat You Bring To The Team
Professional Engineer with a minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in manufacturingP. Eng DesignationWorking knowledge of nuclear plant systems and componentsStrong knowledge of Power Industry codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, CSA, etc.)Experience working directly with Engineering partners and professional trades personnelKnowledge of engineering and construction change management processesLeadership and team skills and ability to work collaboratively in team environmentKnowledge of ASME codes as applicable for pressure boundary work (i.e. ASME Sect III, Class 1, Class 2, etc.)Knowledge of CSA N28 series as relevant for the discipline role (i.e. N285 for mechanical / pressure boundary scopes, etc.)Strong Knowledge of Nuclear N299 standards and relevant quality programsExperienced / knowledgeable of procurement of nuclear class commodities, components and systemsReason for vacancy : New
The expected salary range for this position is $115,000 - $150,000
Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
