The MSW / MHC-M will implement and monitor services to meet the needs of individuals with significant mental health needs.
The MSW / MHC-M must be able to function independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team and work cooperatively with multiple service providers.
The successful candidate, following Recovery Principles will provide high quality assessment and brief counselling using short-term solution-focused and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy therapeutic models.
They will also participate in the education of staff, students and the larger community. This position is initially targeted to work at our Withdrawal Management Services with the understanding that the MSW / MHC-M is a member of Outpatient Mental Health Services and as such may be assigned to another program as needed.
Skills / Abilities / Qualifications
Required : MSW :
MSW :
Master’s degree in Social Work and membership in the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW)
MHC-M :
- Master’s degree in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology or a related health or Social Science field
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)
Both :
- Minimum 5 years recent experience working with individuals with significant mental health needs
- training up to date
- basic certification
- Knowledge and appreciation of Recovery Principles
- Excellent assessment and treatment skills utilizing modalities of individual and group therapies
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and familiarity with DSM-V
- Training and experience in Brief Solution-Focused Therapy
- Training and experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- Training and experience in Single Session Therapy
- Training and experience in Group therapy
- Training and experience in Dialectical Behavior Therapy
- Access to reliable transportation travel throughout Grey and Bruce Counties is required
- Analytical and organizational skills and demonstrated ability to handle and respect confidential information with tact and diplomacy are essential
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team setting
- Able to work all shifts
