The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the transportation team members. They are responsible for effectively and efficiently handling customer service complaints and concerns. They are also to be an active participant in the training and coaching of team members with their job duties responsibilities and safety.
SCHEDULE : Monday to Friday 6 : 00PM -2 : 30AM
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Leadership
- Participate in the recruitment of new team members
- Attend and participate in Leadership and Development training sessions
- Assist with the coordination of safety team and other meetings
- Supervise and lead the delivery and service team in the absence of the Transportation Manager
- Create training plans and assist in the training of team members
- Resolve driver concerns in Transportation Managers absence
- Keep the Transportation Manager informed when team members are not meeting expectations
- Follow the progressive discipline process according to company policy
- Assist with the annual performance appraisal process
- Make compensation recommendations to Transportation Manager
- Ensure a safe and positive work environment in compliance with OHSA company standards local provincial and federal requirements as well as ensuring there is an overall positive morale and respect among team members
- Act as a role model for following all company policies and procedures including uniform and PPE requirements
Reporting and Budgeting
Assist with all departmentally generated reportsContribute to development of the annual department budget preparation for SCC Managements review and approvalAccurately complete all necessary paperworkRouting Scheduling Hours of Service and Maintenance
Weekly schedule driver routes and re-routing as necessary to ensure route coverageConduct route analysis and recommend saving opportunities to ManagerMonitor driver hours of service via onboard systemConduct route observations to ensure Drivers are safely performing their duties as required by company and DOT standards (The numbers of observations per period are determined by the number of drivers at the SCC)Maintain driver qualification fileSchedule truck maintenance and maintain fleet imageConduct accident investigationsCoordinate deliveries and backhauls activitiesAssist the Transportation Manager with truck leasing meetings to ensure PMs are met to Dominos standard and repairs are completed in a timely mannerPerform other duties as assigned by leadershipMonitor drivers performance and hold them accountable when performance is below expectations using coaching and / or progressive discipline as neededComplete drivers annual performance reviewsReview drivers lytx and logs and coach according to companyCollaborate in driver onboarding and trainingCustomer Service
Assist in answering Slice of Pie complaintsMaintain positive customer relationshipsReview Customer SurveysMiscellaneous
Based on business needs and if qualified drive a company commercial vehicle for a delivery when necessaryBased on business needs and if qualified drive a company commercial vehicle for service drop-off when necessaryOther duties as assignedQualifications :
High School Diploma or GED college or university diploma or degree preferred3-5 years of documented transportation supervisory experience2-3 years of route scheduling experienceMS Office SAP Transportation Management Systems (TMS) computers and scanner equipment / softwareExperience with RoadNet considered an assetValid AZ Drivers License considered an assetKnowledge of Ministry of Transportation rules and regulationsKnowledge of Hours of Service (HOS) regulationsPossess a good working knowledge of Canadian geography with the ability to navigate and coordinate routesMechanical repair knowledge for trucks and trailers is an assetIntermediate Microsoft Office skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously with strong attention to detailProactive attitude and takes initiative to prevent issuesTeam oriented and safety mindedAvailable to work shifts that may be scheduled anytime during a 24-hour day over any 7-day periodPhysical Requirements
