Job Description

Our client in Vancouver is looking for a Technical Specialist with experience troubleshooting a complex network System.

We seek an individual who is up to the challenge of taking on the role of Network Technical Specialist to provide expert support for the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of our corporate network infrastructure.

Your responsibilities will include :

Taking responsibility for technical solutions and operational support.

Working with project and operational teams on the ongoing enhancement and development of new network infrastructure systems and workflow automation.

Being a leader in networking / security best practices.

Developing and writing business justifications for medium to large scale network projects.

Troubleshooting networks using tools such as a protocol analyzer, wireless spectrum analyzer.

Supporting multi-vendor networks and technologies including Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, Microsoft.

Participating in a standby rotation schedule.

Position requirements :

Advanced knowledge and experience in designing, installing, and troubleshooting complex network solutions using Cisco and Palo Alto appliances.

Strong troubleshooting skills and extensive experience providing Tier 3 technical support to resolve complex network issues.

Adaptability, creativity, with strong, proven technical and design skills in the following areas :

Cisco switching, routing, wireless (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR, ASR)

Palo Alto Next generation firewalls (including Panorama), Cisco ASA and FirePOWER firewalls

Network policy administration (Cisco ISE)

Network WAN access support, including MPLS, LTE, (SD-WAN considered an asset)

Understanding of automation and API configuration of network devices (Postman, Python, etc.).

Knowledge of SASE fundamentals, as well as remote access connectivity (VPN, ZTNA) will be considered an asset.

Understanding of Cisco wireless deployment best practices and troubleshooting and management (DNAC) will be considered an asset.

Experience with Citrix, Unix / Linux, Nutanix, server / storage technologies will be considered an asset.

Experience with Cisco DNA center and Cisco ACI technologies will be considered an asset.

Exposure and / or certification to methodologies and best practices such as ITIL, incident, problem and change management, systems development lifecycle.

Experience supporting Enterprise DDI (DNS, DHCP, IP Address) and management (Microsoft, EfficientIP)

Cisco / Palo Alto designations / certifications are not required, but preferred.
