THE ROLE :

We are looking for a Risk Analyst (Insurance Advisor) to join our Risk and Insurance Services team in Toronto, Canada. The Risk Analyst (Insurance Advisor) will serve as a key support in the provision of outsourced insurance and risk management services to clients in North America and Europe.

As part of the Risk and Insurance Services division, the Risk Analyst (Insurance Advisor), will be part of a team that provides expert risk management advisory services to a wide range of companies and industries, covering all classes of risk.

The team’s success lies in the ability to uncover potential risk exposures and advise clients on the most cost-effective and appropriate course of action to support the organization’s overall business strategy.

Should you qualify for the role, you will support and conduct insurance reviews on behalf of Asset Managers and Developers in the Commercial Real Estate industry to ensure that the client’s insurance program aligns with industry standards and includes risk management best practices.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage renewal dates for clients and keep senior consultants on track for the renewal process.
  • Evaluate new and renewal applications to determine insurance risks, insurance premiums, extent of coverage and other conditions.
  • Responsible for managing and reporting on all team scheduling for assigned clients including deadlines and ongoing projects.
  • Manage client’s Statement of Values (i.e. list of insured properties), including mid-term adjustments.
  • Manage client policy listing (including corporate and project-based insurance.)
  • Maintain client dashboards of ongoing activities and deliverables.
  • Assist with calculation and review of insurance renewal rates.
  • Ensure appropriate forms and other policy requirements are completed.
  • Participate in benchmarking exercises on premiums, limits, and deductibles.
  • Participate in establishing client insurance coverages and calculate premiums.
  • Provide information concerning insurance packages, the range of risk coverage and other policy features.
  • Collaborate with clients and their insurance brokers for certificate of insurance requests and reviews; report findings or amend as required.
  • Communicate with insurance broker and negotiate on behalf of client to ensure any gaps and / or discrepancies in coverage are addressed and all contractual requirements are met.
  • Assist with policy, lease, lender and contract reviews and relay specifics to senior consultant as necessary (i.e. language, charts or documents).
  • Assist with review and analysis of insurance policies to identify discrepancies, provide explanations and recommendations, and prepare report of findings for review by management.
  • Assist with development and analysis of Request for Proposals (RFP), including overseeing client RFP process as well as INTECH’s response to RFP’s to obtain business.
  • Monitor Insurance Claims and respond to client’s enquiries.
  • Assist with preparation of oral and written presentations and / or reports for clients and prospects.
  • Assist with preparation of insurance program review findings and recommendations report.
  • Support broader Risk & Insurance Services initiatives of the team, as needed.
  • Take ownership of the transfer of salient policy documentation to INTECH’s data systems
  • Utilize data systems in an accurate, timely, and complete manner.
  • Assist with tracking reports and other internal reporting as required.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.

2 3 years’ experience in the insurance industry.

RIBO Certification.

Advanced Excel skills (formatting, tables, pivots and analysis)

  • Experience working with clients in North America and Europe.
  • Working Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal regulations and practices as they relate to lending, insurance, and securitization.

Customer service experience.

Exceptional verbal and written English.
