As the Global Mobility Partner you will be responsible for the entire life cycle of our Canada and US immigration processes, partnering with external legal counsel to provide a positive employee experience for immigration support.
You will act as the subject matter expert on immigration programs and services, and partner with the People & Culture team and area leaders to manage and enhance our immigration processes
- Provide Canada and US / International mobility guidance and support, including visa and work permit requirements.
- Provide support for LMIA’s, Canadian Work Permits, and support the US visa process.
- Facilitate the smooth transition of cross-border talent by liaising between the employee and internal key points of contact (HR, Payroll, Operations etc.).
- Develop and implement strategic mobility programs and practices for Canada and US immigration.
- Develop and recommend overall global mobility policies and programs for EllisDon.
- Act as day-to-day contact for and provide technical subject matter expertise in global mobility for the business and local People & Culture representatives.
- Support the execution of global mobility activities for the Domestic and International relocation processes.
- Identify risks and provide input into mitigation and action planning, escalating when necessary.
- Advise employees on international and domestic relocation moves.
- Develop, manage, and maintain key relationships with external and internal stakeholders supporting the relocation process.
- Partner with People & Culture and Operations to support the employee experience through the relocation process.
Is this the right role for you?
- University degree / diploma at the Bachelors level or above in a relevant field, or a combination of education and equivalent practical training and experience.
- 5 + years of applicable previous experience supporting global mobility processes.
- Expert level understanding of Canadian and US immigration policies and procedures.
- Strong understanding of Canadian and US immigration laws.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills, ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Strong reporting, analytical, and process improvement mentality.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain and develop relationships with team members, including internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to demonstrate agility in creating valuable solutions to complex issues quickly.
- French-English bilingualism is a strong asset.
