We are seeking an Electrical / Systems Engineer with a strong focus in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for utility-scale and C&I applications. The role focuses on system-level electrical design, integration, testing, and product support, working closely with our PCS, BMS, EMS, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.
Responsibilities
System & Electrical Design
- Design and develop system schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and component layout for various BESS assemblies and projects.
- Integrate communication interfaces between EMS, BMS, PCS and SCADA infrastructure.
- Configure and test systems in house to verify requirements and functionalities.
Product Development & NPI
Support the full NPI process including prototype assembly, system validation and product lifecycle.Participate in factory testing, system debugging, and product qualification for pilot units.Assist in product lifecycle engineering and continuous improvement activities.Integrate Power Conversion System, Battery Control Unit, Energy Management System, Power Distribution Unit, HVAC, liquid cooling system and communication interfacesTesting, Certification & Compliance
Support UL and regulatory processes : UL9540, UL1741, UL508A, UL1973, UL61010, CSA / CEC.Prepare technical documentation, test reports, and design review materials.Assist with pre-compliance testing, electrical validation, and agency submission packages.Manufacturing & Supply Chain Support
Support local supply chain activities in North America for components and assemblies.Work with manufacturing partners on BMS / PCS builds, including PCBA SMT and DIP processes.Assist in vendor evaluation, component qualification, cost analysis, and issue resolution.System Integration & Field Support
Troubleshoot electrical and control issues in development, production, and field environments.Support functional testing, FAT / SAT procedures, and system commissioning.Collaborate closely with mechanical, firmware, and software teams to ensure seamless system integration.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.Eligibility to register as E.I.T or P.Eng with EGBC1–5 years of experience in electrical engineering, power systems, or energy storage–related roles.Knowledge of battery systems, power electronics, or industrial control systems.Understanding of schematics, wiring diagrams, and electrical component selection.Familiarity with BMS, PCS, EMS concepts and system integration.Basic knowledge of communication protocols (CAN, Modbus TCP, RS485).Hands-on experience with test equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, power analyzers).Exposure to UL9540 / UL1741 / UL508A or similar certification processes will be an asset.Familiarity with PCBA manufacturing (SMT, DIP) or electronics assembly.Knowledge of design software such as Altium、CAD or EPLANKnowledge of protection relays, switchgear, and utility interconnection requirements.Experience with NPI, manufacturing processes, or component qualification.Experience with FAT / SAT, commissioning, or field service activities.PotisEdge Co., Ltd. , founded in 2015, specializes in three core business areas : EV Battery Systems, Smart Energy Storage Systems, and Hydrogen Fuel Battery Systems.
