Duties
Work as part of the Human Resources team to provide multi-function human resources support services within the Riding Mountain Field Unit including :
Processing administrative human resources actions
Preparing correspondence and managing generic email accounts
Providing information and procedural advice to clients
Maintaining information systems and other records

Parks Canada is a federal government agency responsible for the protection and preservation of Canadas outstanding natural and cultural resources through a system of national parks, national marine conservation areas and national historic sites in all regions of Canada.
Riding Mountain National Park is located in Treaty 2 Territory, the Anishinabe homelands, where we work with the Coalition of First Nations with Interests in Riding Mountain National Park to foster positive and collaborative relationships to protect and present the natural and cultural heritage for all Canadians.
Riding Mountain National Park located approximately 3.5 hours north west of Winnipeg, and protects 3, square kilometers, of wilderness and is home to a staggering diversity of living things.
Approximately , of visitors come to Riding Mountain National Park throughout the entire year. Our dynamic and diverse staff work hard to provide our visitors with a memorable experience;
whether they prefer to stay in the townsite of Wasagaming to shop and explore, or immerse themselves in nature on our pristine trails and backcountry campsites.
We provide our visitors with unique and adventurous experiences in every season so there is always a reason for them to visit the park.
Intent of the process
This process will be used to staff one indeterminate (permanent) full-time position on-location in Riding Mountain National Park.
This process may also be used to create a list of qualified candidates to staff similar positions with various tenures, security levels, linguistic requirements, or work locations.

EDUCATION :
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and / or experience in a field relevant to the position being staffed.
EXPERIENCE :
- Experience providing administrative support services in an office environment;
- Experience in providing client service and dealing with clients and / or the general public;
Experience in using of software programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

KNOWLEDGE :
Knowledge of administrative procedures and practices.
ABILITIES :
- Ability to plan and organize own work and set priorities in order to meet deadlines;
- Ability to review, analyze, and synthesize information and data;
- Ability to use computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook;
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

ADDITIONAL EDUCATION :
A post-secondary school degree and / or diploma and / or certificate in a field relevant to the position being staffed.
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE :
Experience or training in providing human resources support services;
Experience working in a human resource department.
ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE :
Knowledge of legislation, policies trends and practices in Human Resources.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
- Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 drivers license;
- Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform on occasion, if required;
Willingness to work overtime on occasion, possibly on short notice.
Conditions of employment
Obtain and maintain Reliability Status Security Clearance.
