DEFINITION :
Under the direction of the Director of Development Services and Director of Public Works, provides clerical support to both Development Services and Public Works.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED :
- Perform a variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative duties for the Bylaw Enforcement department and maintain departmental filing systems and complaint ledger;
- Respond to queries from the public; arrange meetings, process applications and complaints, prepare reports and letters.
- Conduct investigative research relating to Bylaw Enforcement, and ticketing under the MTI system;
- Prepare illegal suite letters, maintain files and records, assist with research;
- Perform a variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative duties for the Solid Waste Collection Department, maintain a contamination database and video record library;
- Respond to solid waste queries from the public, prepare contamination notices and letters. Coordinate enhanced monitoring data for operators and supervisors;
- Assist with switchboard as required;
- Computer data entry and processing;
- Office overload and clerical support for various Departments, as required;
- Other duties as may be required.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE :
Secondary school graduation;Minimum of two years' related experience;Ability to operate related equipment;Computer experience, preferably in a Windows environment with Word and Excel;Accurate typing speed of 60 w.p.m.;Experience in legal or Court system considered an asset;Ability to work independently and to accomplish tasks and assignments;Ability to deal effectively with co-workers and the public;Good written and oral communication skills;Valid Class 5 B.C.
