The Opportunity :

The Screen Portfolio consists of some of the most authoritative brands in the entertainment and movie domain such as screenrant.

com, cbr.com, collider.com, and movieweb.com. Owned by Valnet, these platforms thrive as primary sources of content for avid movie buffs and pop culture enthusiasts.

What Will You Be Doing :

Manage a team responsible for content development, including Content Leads, Editors, SEO Specialists, Writers, Video Producers, and Social Media Coordinators.

Collaborate closely with the segment leads to ensure content strategies are aligned with target audience interests, industry trends, and revenue objectives.

Indirectly oversee a network of over 500 freelancers, ensuring content quality and consistency.

Develop and implement strategies to increase website traffic within the domains of Movies, TV, Anime, Comics, and Gaming.

Leverage data analysis and a strong understanding of our primary traffic sources : Discover and Search.

  • Regularly assess site-wide and initiative-level traffic performance to maintain healthy website core vitals.
  • Oversee and manage the P&L up to the gross profit level. Analyze financial data and identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimization.
  • Collaborate with the Managing Editor to develop and execute various content initiatives, including articles and videos, aligning them with our strategic goals.
  • Improve SEO guidelines and work closely with the content team to optimize content for search engines, enhancing organic traffic and visibility.
  • Provide regular progress reports to management, comparing actual performance to set goals. Highlight successes and gather feedback for ongoing improvements.

Participate in and present results during Monthly Business Reviews.

Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies (e.g., AI), and continuously benchmark best practices from key competitors within Movies, TV, Anime, Comics, and Gaming.

Requirements :

  • Minimum of 5 years in a content leadership role, preferably within the entertainment or pop culture industry. Proven success in managing and leading content teams.
  • Strong knowledge of strategies to increase website traffic, with a focus on Movies, TV, Anime, Comics, and Gaming content.

Proficiency in data analysis and understanding of traffic sources.

  • Experience in financial analysis and managing budgets, including P& L analysis. Ability to identify revenue growth opportunities and cost optimization.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute content strategies aligned with audience interests and revenue goals. Experience in overseeing content initiatives.
  • Proficiency in SEO guidelines and content optimization for search engines. Track record of enhancing organic traffic and visibility.
  • Strong reporting and data analysis skills, with the ability to provide clear progress reports to management. Experience in presenting results during business reviews.
  • In-depth knowledge of entertainment and pop culture trends, including Movies, TV, Anime, Comics, and Gaming. Continuous benchmarking of best practices from industry competitors. Passion for content.
