We are currently seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join the Geotechnical Practice in Ontario, providing technical and operational leadership, having superior client relations skills and a proven ability to deliver major assignments.

Our geotechnical engineers work closely with other AtkinsRéalis professionals across multiple sectors such as transportation, rail & transit, energy, cities and developments as well as industrial.

You will participate on multi-disciplinary teams and projects and will be expected to collaborate on multidisciplinary projects of all scales.

The successful applicant will be a senior Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer with a proven technical and project management track record and a particular focus on the Transportation sector in Ontario.

The role will include the execution of complex and major programs, supporting complex proposals, mentoring of junior staff, as well as act as technical reference, and therefore good communication skills are essential.

Your role within the team :

• The successful applicant will be a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with extensive experience in highways, rail, municipal roads and bridges.
• The role includes the execution of complex and major programs.
• Supporting proposals efforts for large and complex.
• Mentoring junior staff and contributing to the growth of the team.
• Acting as a technical reference for projects where transportation foundations expertise would be required, as well as help develop and expand the infrastructure geotechnics capability.

The ideal candidate

• The candidate will have a strong academic background in civil engineering or geology with a post-graduate qualification in a geotechnical subject and a minimum of 15 years’ pertinent experience with proven extensive experience with the Ministry of Transportation Ontario projects.
• Proven geotechnical design experience with the application of Design Standards and Guidelines in a design and ground investigation environment.
• Professional Engineering License in Ontario, and ideally Quebec.
• Proven experience in a senior role in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment
• Project management experience and understanding of the needs and approaches to the engineering consultancy and design markets, including relationships with clients and work planning.
• Excellent report writing skills with the ability to peer-review and produce quality deliverables.
