Mechanical Purchaser - warehouse

As a Mechanical Buyer on Pomerleau's logistics team, you will be responsible for purchasing mechanical and electrical parts to support the manufacturing, repair and maintenance of fleet equipment and operations in the greater Montreal area and on remote construction sites for large-scale building and infrastructure projects - ranging from $ million to over $1 billion.

You'll have the opportunity to work with several teams, including accounting, mechanics and other buyers.

What you will do

• Purchase parts and equipment to ensure the smooth running of the logistics center (garage, carpentry, electricity) at the best value for money.
• Negotiate prices for products and services, search for and select the best suppliers or -manufacturers.
• Receive goods, inventory and validate receiving tickets.
• Prepare maintenance kits for millwrights, carpenters and electricians as needed.
• Coordinate transportation and shipping of ordered goods to ensure on-time delivery within required and possible timeframes.
• Meet with suppliers' and manufacturers' representatives to keep abreast of new products and parts available on the market.

This role could be for you if you have

DEP / DEC / Technical diploma or equivalent experience in a field relevant to our activities (equipment purchasing, construction equipment / heavy equipment mechanics, tooling, electricity, etc.

or in administration with experience in a technical field.

• 5 to 8 years experience applicable to the position.
• Good knowledge of the Office suite and comfortable with information systems.
• Bilingual French / English.
• Knowledge of electricity is an asset.
