Under the direction of the Operations Manager, this role is responsible for supporting the Estate & Insurance Advisor (EIA) with the goal of growing overall insurance sales.
BMO Estate Insurance Advisory Services (EIASI) provides high net worth clients with comprehensive insurance-based solutions to assist clients in building, preserving, and creating wealth through various tax advantaged strategies.
Our insurance solutions are offered utilizing insurance products manufactured by leading third-party insurance carriers.
The Senior Estate Insurance Marketing Associate is responsible for professionally and efficiently responding competently to inquiries or referring clients to appropriate staff as needed.
Working in a fast paced, ever-changing environment, they work comfortably with colleagues, other business units and external vendors;
demonstrating the ability to cooperate and influence as they take on various projects and delivering to tight deadlines.
Administrative Support
- Provide a full range of administrative functions to support the achievement of disability and insurance sales by the Estate & Insurance Advisor
- Review all life insurance applications, change forms or other documents for completeness and accuracy
- Complete underwriting follow-ups with clients, business partners and insurance carriers during the underwriting process
- Respond to client inquiries or direct to the appropriate staff member
- Assist the EIA in the preparation and maintenance of client documentation
- Help to manage calendar of EIA and book client meetings
- Prepare insurance illustrations using life insurance company software
- Assist the EIA with marketing initiatives and other miscellaneous tasks to support and to drive additional business growth
- Contact internal departments to resolve any client issue or process issue to ensure smooth operations
Business Delivery and Operational Effectiveness
- Support the EIA's sales objectives by delivering high quality service to clients and business partners
- Plan and organize seminars, lunch and learns and workshops for clients and business partners
- Identify gaps, issues and best practices through monitoring of sales and service performance targets against plans
- Identify revenue generating opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell including term renewals, replacements and conversions and living benefit solutions
- Oversight of the EIASI inforce block of business for the respective team, with a focus on high-risk policies to ensure client objectives / needs continue to be met
- Contribute to the EIA business objectives by building and maintaining relationships with clients and ensure client needs are met or exceeded by resolving issues / requests in a timely and effective manner
- Maintain files and generate production reports, as needed
- Maintain awareness of insurance products, initiatives and developments in the industry and inforce services offered by external providers
- Contribute to the EIA's business objectives by ensuring that the book of business is continuously developing
- Ensure client needs are met or exceeded by resolving issues / requests in a timely and effective manner
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as evidenced by providing an outstanding level of customer service to clients, carriers, and producers alike
- Project a professional and consistent image by adhering to organization's brand, corporate identity and Standards
Risk Management & Controls
- Ensure proper adherence to all aspects of First Principles Our Code of Conduct and Ethics and Compliance Regulations
- Follow security and safeguarding procedures and apply appropriate due diligence for the prevention of loss due to fraud, counterfeiting, money laundering or defalcation in accordance with Bank policy
KNOWLEDGE :
- High energy and highly motivated, self-starter, results-oriented individual with a commitment to providing an exceptional level of service
- Advanced knowledge of administrative process and procedures as outlined in BMO EIASI Policies
- Ideal candidate must have a strong insurance industry background and in- depth working knowledge of insurance products, sales concepts and inforce policy service strategies
- Strong understanding of provincial regulatory requirements for policy management
- Knowledge of Trust and Estate services, as well as Financial / Retirement planning is an asset
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, with focus on demonstrated working knowledge of MS Excel
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong analytical, investigative, and problem resolution skills
- Effective organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet timelines
- Proven ability to manage effectively in a multitasking environment, while executing with accuracy
- Team-oriented operating style with effective interpersonal skills that allow successful business interactions with individuals of all leadership styles and personalities
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :
- University degree or equivalent industry experience
- Minimum 5 years of administrative experience in Life Insurance Industry and with Investment Products
- Provincial Life Insurance Licensed (LLQP)
Salary :
$35,000.00 - $64,900.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure.
Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
BMO Financial Group's total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
