Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Mechanical or Mechatronics Design Engineer located in Victoria, BC.
- You will be 3D modelling and creating drawings for custom actuator parts required by customers.
- You will be 3D printing or machining prototype parts and testing them for suitability as products.
- You will learn how to inspect parts using metrology instruments to adjust tolerances on our production drawings.
- You will also be involved in testing our products for performance and reliability.
- You will be required to design and build various test rigs and fixtures used to inspect parts or assemblies during IQC.
- You will be diagnosing failed actuator from customers for root cause and making suggestions to improve quality
- You will be visiting our manufacturing operation in China and working with them to improve quality and fix problems
Qualifications
Strong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team settingBachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a Technology Diploma with related experience.Experience in a small tech company and related industry is a plus3D CAD modelling and 2D drawing creation experience is essential to this job. We can train you in CREO.Knowledge of manufacturing methods like machining, turning, punching and plastic injection moulding is important.Experience with tolerances, inspection methods and metrology would be a definite bonus.Experience with PMDC and Stepper motors is desiredExperience programming with arduino or pi is desiredMechanical experience with hand tools, milling machine, lathe and 3D printer an asset.Experience with diagnosis and repair of electronics would be an asset.Strong verbal and written English is required.Fluency in mandarin would be helpful.Must be legally permitted to work in Canada.#J-18808-Ljbffr
