Overview
A Day in Your Life at MKS : As a Test Engineer at Photon Control Inc., a subsidiary of MKS Instruments, Inc., you play a key role in the design, development and delivery of cutting-edge optical sensor solutions required for advanced semiconductor fabrication. In this role, you will be part of the Advanced Development Team, reporting to the Principal Optical Architect.
You Will Make an Impact By
- Understanding new product requirements and designing and executing tests to support leading-edge optical sensor development projects.
- Designing test plans, performing tests and troubleshooting procedures, including identifying and resolving technical issues.
- Analyzing, compiling, and presenting test results to project team.
- Writing test documents, including test plans, test procedures, and test reports.
- Maintaining and calibrating test equipment, ensuring they are all working to specification.
- Supporting design, construction, verification and validation of new test equipment and operation procedures.
- Continuously evaluating processes and procedures and developing and implementing improvement to increase test capability and efficiency.
- Using statistical analysis software to analyze data and draw data-based conclusions.
- Handling aggressive deadlines with agility and results driven approach.
Skills You Bring
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Applied Physics, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or other engineering degrees from a related field).2-5 years of related experience.A desire to learn and grow in a proactive, collaborative environment.Demonstrated ability for detailed hands-on work.Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, with strong attention to details.Proactive, self-starter and safety conscious.Proficiency with data analysis and statistics; experience with MATLAB, JMP or Minitab desirable.Flexible and willing to work in very fast-paced environment where tasks and priorities may change often.Experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, ovens, optical power meters, fiber-optics.Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written) and a proven ability to collaborate with team members in a fast-paced multi-disciplined environment.Preferred Skills
Experience assembling bench top optics.Experience with SOLIDWORKS, or similar CAD software.Proficiency with Python, LabView, or other equipment automation methods.EIT or P.Eng designation preferred. Final job title will be aligned with EGBC requirements.Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Salary Pay Range : $70,000 - $100,000 per year. This range is a reasonable expectation of pay for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience, education, training, operational and business needs and other considerations.
