JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role ofRegulatory Analyst.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Reliability Compliance, this position is responsible to support Ontario Power Generation's (OPG's) involvement in regulatory activities, including the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) ORCP (Ontario Reliability Compliance Program) as well as reliability standard development to comply with NERC (North American Reliability Corporation), NPCC (North East Power Coordinating Council) and the IESO (Independent Electricity System Operator) compliance requirements.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• This role focuses on standard and policy document development to address new and revised NERC standards (both CIP and O&P standards), NPCC Directories, IESO Market Manuals and Market Rules as well as OPG governance.
• Engage with industry standard drafting teams to provide OPG comment on critical changes that may impact OPG’s compliance obligations to NERC and NPCC standards as well as IESO Market Manuals and Market Rules.
• Interpret and implement as required the latest NERC CIP (Critical Infrastructure Protection) and NERC O&P (Operations and Planning) standards and requirements into OPG governance.
• Assist with design, delivery and evaluation of stakeholder impact to new and revised reliability compliance standards to gauge compliance readiness.
• Duties include chairing internal meetings to develop positions and feedback for draft industry standards at the NERC, NPCC and IESO level; to communicate approved changes to industry standards to lines of business within OPG; and to serve as a reference point for all reliability compliance governance within OPG.
• Develop communication plans for internal and external use in supporting OPG's positions and to keep all employees informed of developments relating to industry restructuring, market design, market rules, new and / or modified reliability compliance standards and regulatory issues. Produce communications products on regulatory issues in various formats, e.g., emails, reports, presentations, speeches.
• Represent the Reliability Compliance division on interdisciplinary OPG project teams and with external stakeholder groups and organizations.
• Maintain an understanding of plans, activities and issues in key areas of OPG and their potential impact on the OPG’s reliability compliance posture.
