Job descriptionVarious locations Commercial Residential Install domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems Repair domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems Prepare tenders and quotations Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment Schedule personnel, tools and equipment Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing Supervise other workers Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size 1 to 2 people Plumber Trade Certification First Aid Certificate Natural Gas License Plumber Red Seal Certificate Gas Fitter Red Seal Certificate Level five apprenticeship training Criminal record check Driving record check (abstract) Own vehicle Vehicle supplied by employer Valid driver\'s licence Physically demanding Bending, crouching, kneeling Hand-eye coordination Tools Steel-toed safety boots Hard hat Efficient interpersonal skills Excellent oral communication Judgement Team player Bonus Commission Gasoline paid Night shift premium Learning / training paid by employer Other benefits Team building opportunities Transportation provided by employer
