SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Cavendish Agri Services supports farmers in growing healthy and productive crops. We have eight manufacturing / retail locations throughout Atlantic Canada.

Our primary products include fertilizers, crop protectants and various agronomy services.

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant will be responsible to analyze data, create reports, recommend improvements, and generate change,

With a focus on both external and internal customers, maintaining a high level of professionalism, accuracy and detail. If you're a highly-motivated individual with a "can do" attitude, we would like to hear from you.

Qualifications :

• Post-secondary education in accounting, and achieved or working towards accounting designation (CPA)
• Skilled in the full cycle accounting process
• Minimum of five years of relevant work experience
• Experience in a manufacturing environment would be considered an asset
• Ability to prioritize, coordinate, and manage multiple activities
• Enthusiastic communicator to both external and internal stakeholders
• Independent and resourceful with robust problem-solving capabilities
• Strong sense of urgency and detail-oriented, with a focus on delivering high quality work
• Motivated to continually ensure integrity and improve financial reporting

Key Responsibilities :

• Prepare and provide analysis of financial reports in a timely and accurate manner, including weekly sales reports and monthly financial statements, including participation in the period end close process
• Participate in the monthly forecasting and annual budget process for both income statement and balance sheet
• Use statistical and analytical techniques to analyze and maintain inventory standard costs and vendor rebates to ensure accurate reporting of inventory and cost of goods sold
• Monitoring and reporting of KPI's to senior management, providing insight into business performance
• Participate in the annual financial statement audit and quarterly internal audit compliance, including preparation of materials and coordination with the internal and external auditors
• Involvement in standard costing and inventory valuation processes
• Other duties as assigned
