Heavy Duty Fleet Mechanic - $36-$44 / hr - North Winnipeg
Are you a ticketed Truck Transport Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician?
Do you have experience maintaining fleet vehicles i.e. completing diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and performing safety inspections on 4500+ KG?

Permanent Position
Hours : Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7 : 30am - 4pm
Salary : $36-$44 per hour (range based on experience and certification)

Responsibilities
As a heavy-duty mechanic, a normal day would include :
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and troubleshoot issues
- Perform maintenance, repair, and inspections on all company facilities and equipment, including but not limited to : vans, trucks, trailers, skid steers, forklifts, and other equipment as deemed necessary.
- Complete scheduled preventative maintenance tasks as needed.
- Conduct occasional off-site diagnostics and repairs in the event an immobilized vehicle is deemed repairable off-site
- Perform road tests when required to ensure equipment is in proper working order
- Pick up or deliver vehicles to external suppliers when required
- Pick up parts and / or supplies from suppliers when required
- Enter repair work orders in the shop management system for proper record-keeping
- Other shop duties that may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications
What do you need for this position?
- Mechanic experience equivalent to a Level 4 Apprenticeship or higher is required; an equivalent combination of training and experience in the Truck and Transport / Heavy Equipment industry is accepted.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in a shop environment is required
- Red Seal Designation is an advantage and will be paid accordingly
- Manitoba Safety Inspection certified on 4500+ KG
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required
- Candidate is required to provide their own toolbox and CSA-standard safety shoes
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Superior attention to detail
