Description
- Activating and building new account relationships in the local market and increase market share from existing accounts
- Developing new business through obtaining accounts from competition, lateral development of existing accounts and contacting new customers in the market.
The solicitation of new and saturation of existing business should be through a combination of appointments, telemarketing, site tours, constant prospecting and networking
- Working closely and reporting to the Director of Sales & General Manager to ensure proposed rate negotiations meet the financial needs of the hotels
- Acting as a seamless extension of the hotel and representing hotels with professionalism and integrity
- Developing and nurturing a sales pipeline to build short to long-term business
- Understanding the overall market dynamics competitors’ economic trends, supply and demand, and how to sell for assigned accounts
- Traveling to designated territories to maintain existing accounts and generate new business
- Participating in the conception and execution of marketing initiatives, including Internet marketing, email marketing, promotions, events, packaging and partnerships
- Personally conducting sales calls, and providing assistance to team members in developing new accounts and closing the sale
- Preparing monthly and weekly sales activity reports and action plans
- Acting, if needed, as Manager on Duty and Lobby as required
- Preparing and administering the hotel's marketing plan and budget to achieve revenue and profitability goals
- Actively participating in Revenue Management meetings to maximize revenue and occupancy as defined by Yield Management strategies
Requirements
- Minimum Experience : 5 years hotel sales experience
- Hilton OnQ / PEP system experiences a big asset
- Superior knowledge of the Corporate Market segment
- Outgoing personality and great people skills
- Positive attitude and good communication skills
- Commitment to delivering a high level of customer service
- Strength in direct sales
- Knowledge of the local area and contacts preferred
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
- Must be an active team player with excellent organizational and presentation skills
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Sales Pro
- Must have own vehicle and a willingness to travel
- Must be able to work flexible hours, and travel as needed
- Bachelor’s Degree and / or Hotel Management Degree or Diploma preferred
