Job Description
Purpose :
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supervising the activities of maintenance employees and maintaining equipment in good working order to ensure production requirements can be met.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Assist in designing, planning, locating, negotiating and purchasing of new equipment for plant expansion
- Provide leadership for equipment installation and secure resources to achieve rated speeds and safe operation within specified timelines
- Ensure the building, machinery, and services (electricity, steam, ammonia etc.) conform with and are maintained to legislative requirements
- Design, coordinates and implement modifications required to fine tune production process.
- Compile / maintain operation statistics / reports for the department
- Analyze machinery down time / utilization and implement solutions to ensure that equipment operates at rated efficiencies
- Ensure that all personnel within the department are trained in safety standards and these standards are being monitored
- Act as primary point of contact and key resource person to meet with equipment suppliers in bringing latest improvements to the company
- Manage a team of maintenance staff (including millwrights, electricians, technicians, maintenance helpers) to carry out day to day maintenance work
- Provide direction to undertake preventive and predictive maintenance
- All employees are responsible for food and safety quality
- All employees are responsible to report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action

Competencies :
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in high volume manufacturing positionsA minimum of 5 years’ experience supervising people in manufacturing operationsExcellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to provide quality customer serviceProficiency in relevant computer applications, e.g. Word, Excel, MS project, and MS Power PointDetail orientedExcellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to effectively interact with persons at all levels of the organizationStrong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skillsAbility to lead and manage projects to completionEducation and Experience :
Mechanical Engineer with a of minimum 3 years ’ experience in food processing plantsMillwright and / or Electrician red seal ticket is an advantage.Class 4 Boiler Ticket is an advantage.Physical Demands :
