Position overview
The Vancouver Airport Authority has a part-time 2-year term opportunity for a Noise Information Coordinator . Reporting to the Manager, Environment, and working with the Supervisor, Noise Abatement & Air Quality, the successful candidate is responsible for coordinating the noise complaint and noise information component of the Airport Authority’s YVR Aeronautical Noise Management Program area.
Key responsibilities include :
- Managing contact between the Airport Authority’s Noise Management Program and the public.
- Maintaining and using Aircraft Noise & Operations Monitoring System and other data sources to track, investigate, and respond to community questions and concerns.
- Collecting, analyzing, and providing data for internal and external customers and producing data reports where required.
- Monitoring air carrier compliance with YVR’s Noise Abatement Procedures, as well as investigating potential deviations.
- Communicating with and educating other departments at the Airport Authority on noise management issues which includes participating and supporting discussions to advance efforts on noise management activities.
- Drafting community advisories and website material about changes to airport operations as well as maintaining and updating information materials and program documentation as required.
Key qualifications include :
At least two years of relevant experience, supplemented by a completion of High school plus one to two years of post-secondary schooling, including trades apprenticeships, preferably in the aviation sector;
or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Ability to understand technical information relating to aircraft operations, air traffic control and airport operations as well as ability to recognize aircraft types.
- Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
- High level of proficiency in MS 365 (e.g., MS Excel Word, and PowerPoint); proficient at researching information online.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including presentation skills.
- Excellent customer service skills and demonstrated ability to manage challenging conversations.
This position is open to Vancouver Airport Authority employees and external applicants. Previous job performance will be taken into consideration for all internal candidates that apply for this position.

Salary Range : $56,911 to $74,375 per annum, based on 37.5-hour work week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications and internal equity.
