REPORTS TO : Director of Engineering and Infrastructure Planning
LOCATION : Initial Placement – Burford Administration Office
Minimum Qualifications :
- Civil Engineering Technology diploma or similar
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills that are resolution oriented
- Ability to interpret applicable design standards, regulations and legislation
- Demonstrated AutoCAD drafting skills
- Demonstrated surveying skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Dedicated to a high degree of professionalism and setting standards of excellence
- Ability to organize work and resources in a fast-paced team environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Valid driver’s license, provision of own vehicle and an acceptable drivers abstract
Assets :
Experience in a municipal environmentExperience in civil construction inspection and surveyingProfessional Designation (C.Tech or CET)Duties :
Prepare detailed design drawings in CAD using Civil 3D for various municipal projects, most often road reconstruction, watermain replacement and sewer replacement projects.Assist with the preparation of tenders and requests for quotationsTopographic surveying for various road and facility projectsProvide technical assistance to various County divisions regarding the departmental work plan and programs, including, but not limited to :Site surveys, property line verifications, invert elevation surveys
Periodic on-site inspection and supervision of municipal infrastructure projects, in accordance with County policies, plans and specificationsAttend public meetings to discuss project details with affected property ownersMonitoring and reporting on project timelines and budgetsGIS mapping and data updatesPreparation of maps and figures to accompany various staff reports and memos.Collection of data for updating and maintaining the County’s infrastructure asset management inventoryAssist with Tangible Capital Asset updates for new County infrastructureEnsuring regulatory Health and Safety practices are followed and adhered toOther duties as assignedSalary Range : $64,665 - $75,657 (Grade 4) 35 hours per week
