POSITION OVERVIEW : Under the supervision of the Operations Manager and the Production Supervisor the position performs a variety of sewing functions.
These duties include but are not limited to reading specs, sewing filter bags according to the specification sheets, and examining filter bags to ensure they meet Albarrie quality standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES : Reviews and interprets specification sheets and engineer drawings prior to performing sewing tasks. Operates single, double or multi-needle serging, banding and other sewing machines, to join sections of filter bags.
Prepares machine by changing needles and thread; securing attachments. Sews materials together by guiding material under machine needle.
Inspects filter bags upon completion to ensure they meet Albarrie quality standards. Repairs returned filter bags from customers as per specs.
Prepares rush orders for customers as prioritized by the Sewing Team Leader or Plant Supervisor. Documents actions by completing production, quality, and machine maintenance logs on a daily basis.
Maintains complete knowledge of and complies with company and departmental policies, procedures and standards. Maintains client and company confidence by keeping information confidential and secure.
Maintains a positive working relationship with team members and management in a team environment. QUALIFICATIONS : Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma (or equivalent if studied in a different Country or Province) Basic knowledge of industrial fabrics Basic knowledge of sewing techniques Basic knowledge of various sewing machines Basic knowledge of reading specifications sheets and engineer drawings Experience using a computer and an ERP system to scan in and out of work orders.
