Human Services Assistant Coordinator

The Human Services Assistant Coordinator plays an integral role in supporting all staff in the HorizonSchool Division. Working in a team environment, in the Division Office, located in Taber, Alberta, thisposition is responsible for a multitude of tasks performed in support of the Division’s Human Services andPayroll functions, programs, and assignments.
These tasks include developing and producing offers ofemployment and contracts to prospective employees, reporting and communicating with schooladministrators, and payroll to ensure proper processing of staff throughout the Division.
The Division Horizon operates a $45 million dollar budget and serves approximately 3,500 students in ten vibrant ruralcommunities : Lomond, Enchant, Vauxhall, Hays, Barnwell, Grassy Lake, Warner, Milk River, andTaber.
There are 15 schools, 3 Outreach Programs, 2 Alternative Christian programs, and 19 HutterianBrethren Colony Schools served by a quality staff of over 200 teachers and 150 non-teaching staff.

Division Office Taber is located approximately 50 km east of Lethbridge and 260 km southeast of Calgary. Thepopulation of Taber is approximately 8,500.
Qualifications ? Knowledge and experience in the Human Services areas of advertising, recruitment assistance,contracts and employment agreements.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability towork under pressure in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
- Strong technical and software knowledge, experience, and background, with a demonstratedability to learn and problem solve.
- Related Post-Secondary Education, University Degree, Diploma, or other related certificate(s) oftraining.? The ability to communicate ideas clearly, concisely, creatively and verbally, both virtually and in writing.
- The ability to gather data from various sources and the ingenuity to know which questions need tobe asked.? An outstanding communicator and processor.
- Sound organizational and time management skills.? Demonstrated motivation, enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity.? Excellent writing, editing, and analytical skills.
- The ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all members of theHorizon Team and its stakeholders.
- Competency working with Human Services Information Systems such as Atrieve, Googleworkspace, and Microsoft office.? Competence and knowledge about labour standards, collective agreements, current legislation,and policies related to Human Services.
