In this role, you will :
- Support the basic short term loan program by providing customer service as needed when volunteer shortages exist within the geographic area.
- Review incoming applications for completeness and contact referring health care professionals for further information as required.
- Respond to enquiries from clients, healthcare professionals, and the public.
- Follow up on equipment that is past the loan due date.
- Recruit, manage, and engage volunteers within the geographical region.
- Build relationships with key community organizations, colleges, and volunteer agencies to maintain sufficient volunteer availability for service delivery.
- In the absence of Lead Client Service volunteer, schedule volunteers at service sites to ensure service levels are maintained.
- Supervise Client Service volunteers and respond to enquiries and requests; may be required to hire, train, and support summer students.
- Provide program administration including, but not limited to, updating volunteer records including training records, compiling program statistics, tracking financial and equipment donations, and accurately entering equipment and client data into the database.
- Support the Coordinator, Client Services in maintaining program standards and implementing quality control mechanisms.
- Ensure the implementation of national and HELP–specific volunteer management policies and processes.
What we are looking for :
The minimum qualifications for this job are completion of two (2) years post-secondary education in health services or a related field and one (1) year customer service experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, including telephone etiquette.Availability to be on call for the remainder of the week on a casual basis.Experience working with volunteers.Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite.Ability to effectively problem solve, prioritize, organize, and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.Strong interpersonal skills including diplomacy, empathy, and the ability to manage difficult situations.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.First Aid certification, or willingness to take training.Ability to lift and carry 50lbs.Considered an asset : Knowledge of medical equipment and fluency in additional languages.Working conditions :
