The Senior Electrical Estimator is responsible for estimating and costing assigned controls and switchgear projects and as an integral part of the Power Systems team will review specifications, with an and commercial perspective, and develop solutions with the assistance from the various Power Systems market segment teams.

Create technical overview of controls and switchgear options by generating control narratives and single line diagrams.Communicate effectively and meet regularly with the team to review projects and workloadManage day-to-day direction from the Controls and Electrical Services Manager and Account ManagersPrepare cost estimates for bidding purposes aligned with the evaluation of specification and / or customer requirements and agreed upon strategy with the team and submit to customersMust haves for this role :
Engineering Degree from accredited University (B.Eng), Certified Engineering Technologist (CET), or combination of Technical Education and experienceSafety conscious with 10-15 years demonstrated ability as an Electrical Designer of switchgear and controls.Hold a Professional Engineering License in the province they are working in is an asset.Bilingual in French and English Oral and Written is a requirement.in Project Management / Project Costing and knowledge of generators and generator paralleling applications is extremely beneficial. Ability to use AutoCad Electrical as needed.Past controls design experience and knowledge of various PLC manufacture platforms such as Allen Bradley, Schneider, GE is a requirementAttention to detail and ability to manage and balance multiple tasks simultaneouslyAbility to take ownership and accountability for decisions madeSolid business acumen and an ability to balance technical and commercial driversConsultative interpersonal and effective communication skills to collaborate with Account Managers, Design Team, Manufacturing, Purchasing and CustomersStrategic with a mindset for continuous improvement, strong organization and planning skillsHigh aptitude for delivering results in a fast-paced, demanding, deadline-driven environment withconstantly changing prioritiesExtremely computer literate with proficiencies in contact management and MS Office ApplicationsAbout Toromont Cat Power Systems
