Job Title : Assembler (Custom Switchboard)

Job Description

Join our team as an Assembler, where you will work collaboratively to assemble, fit, and mount mechanical components into heavy switchboard structures. This position requires medium to advanced assembly skills, proficiency in using power assembly tools, and the ability to read and follow engineering drawings and 3D models.

Responsibilities

• Construct large switchboard structures and subassemblies using pre-fabricated metal parts, following engineering schematics and electrical drawings.
• Mount and brace horizontal and vertical copper bus, risers, and bus supports inside structures.
• Utilize ladders, punch presses, band saws, pump trucks, compressed air lines, and more than 30 different tools including power impact wrenches and torque tooling.
• Construct pallets following engineering design requirements.
• Ensure strong assembly fundamentals are used at all times such as the use of proper hardware, applying correct torque, and using consistent fastening methods.
• Identify design issues in mechanical and electrical schematics and raise them through the correct channels.
• Visually inspect parts and material before and after assembly for conformance to drawings, quality standards, and customer specifications, and make mechanical adjustments as needed.
• Check parts picked or delivered against those required using the bill of materials and resolve issues with the Team Lead.
• Repair or rework issues detected during the inspection / test stage of the job.
