Altis is proud to work with one of our wonderful clients in the Broader Public Sector recruiting for a Payroll Administrator on an 8-month contract in South Vancouver.
Please note, the successful candidate must have their PCP Designation. The organization is using Workday as their platform and welcomes individuals with experience in Workday or similar platforms.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Support payroll processing for a significant number of employees on different pay schedules.
- Work closely with the broader payroll team to guarantee precise and prompt payroll execution.
- Address diverse payroll inquiries from employees and internal HR support teams.
- Execute manual procedures and adjustments, such as generating reports, importing spreadsheets, and rectifying data manually.
- Effective communication skills with diverse groups, using both verbal and written methods.
- Proven ability to maintain meticulous attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong multitasking skills and ability to meet deadlines despite frequent interruptions.
- Initiative in proposing improvements to departmental operations and client service.
- Competence in interpreting and applying policies from various entities.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in handling employee data.
Qualifications and Skills
- 4+ years of payroll experience utilizing a payroll system.
- Knowledge of benefits policies and regulations surrounding enrollment.
- Intermediate MS Office user (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience working in a unionized environment preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Strong team player and collaborator.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling employee data.
Education
- Completion of Canadian Payroll Association's Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification is required.
