Job Overview

Matchbox Consulting Group is hiring a Mechanical Engineer to provide expertise for hydropower generation facilities, focusing on turbines, generators, and governor systems. The role supports capital projects, maintenance programs, and Owners Engineer review work, ensuring safe, reliable, and high‑quality project delivery.

Contract : 1 year

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engineering solutions for hydropower mechanical systems, including Francis, Pelton, and Kaplan turbines; generators; governor systems; gates; valves; and related equipment.
• Conduct engineering analysis, resolve technical challenges, and interpret specifications for medium‑complexity projects.
• Review and develop mechanical designs, technical documentation, drawings, and calculations.
• Support planning, estimating, quality management, and project reporting activities.
• Perform Owners Engineer reviews and provide clear, structured technical feedback.
• Collaborate with project managers, operations, maintenance teams, and external stakeholders.
• Conduct site visits for inspections, troubleshooting, and field engineering support.
• Participate in developing engineering standards and guide junior engineers and EITs.
• Use CAD and engineering software to support drafting, modeling, and design work.
• Assist with commissioning, testing, and equipment acceptance activities as required.
