The Air / Ocean, Export / Import Coordinator position with Thompson Ahern & Company Limited will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the shipment process.
You will be the key customer contact and an expert in ensuring all requests and customer requirements are met and answered accurately and timely.
You will be accountable for executing and overseeing tasks for each shipment in addition to daily communication, reporting, and email management.
- Timely preparation of rates and quotes for customers and overseas agents
- Coordinate the routing of export / import bookings with ocean carriers & clients
- Arrange submission for CERS, Export Declarations
- Generate export documents as per client’s requests
- Prepare all necessary shipping documentation related to international bookings and process all export / import documentation to clearing agents to include : (AES's, Manifest, Shipping Instructions, Haz Cargo Decl.
Bill of Ladings and Certificate of Origin, etc.)
- Dispatch pick-ups to authorized agents and drayage companies, shipping lines, trucking companies, clearing agents, warehouses, and all other parties involved in the shipment
- Act as a liaison with Custom Brokers and agents, along with Ocean carriers.
- Execute / Coordinate tasks on the shipments to meet all customer SOP requirements : processing pre-alerts, delivery of freight, governmental filings, etc.
- Collaborate, develop, and build relationships with international transportation carriers and agent representatives regarding ocean exports
- Communicate with vendors for payment disputes and service requirements
- Communicate with internal office (includes internal department and oversea offices) for container delivery status.
- Any other duties that may be assigned as needed.
Requirements
- Post secondary diploma in Customs related field.
- 3-5 yeras of experience in customs / international freight
- Knowledge of the process of export / import on certain modes of transports is a must.
- Team player
- High level of attention to detail.
