Position : Operating Supervisor Stock Preparation
Location : Kapuskasing, ON Papermill
Kap Paper Inc seeks a Stock Preparation Supervisor to oversee the stock preparation processes for daily newsprint production from mechanically ground chips.
The role involves ensuring safety, quality, production, and energy standards, while endorsing the Results Management Framework and fostering a team-oriented environment to enhance the site's profitability.

Responsibilities :
- Provide leadership to the operations crews to provide safe, efficient cost-effective operation of stock preparation equipment and newsprint operation.
- Reduce the direct cost of stock preparation by reducing costs while continually improving operations.
- Establish and maintain staffing of Stock Preparation Dept on a weekly basis by overseeing scheduling and managing vacation.
- Manage the preparation of pulp, white water, dye, and bleach reliably.
- Continually improve the capability, efficiency, and resources of Stock Preparation processes.
- Designate the equipment and priority for maintenance and formulate plans for effective repairs including providing availability of equipment.
- Ensure all training manuals are up to date.
- Ensure monthly safety, environmental and JHSC audits are complete and followed up.
- Ensure all process equipment is in operational condition, consistent good economics.
- Identify operations crew training and developmental needs.
- Support other areas within the Newsprint Manufacturing Group.
Requirements :
- Knowledge of Papermill / Pulp mill practices.
- 5+ years experience in an industrial unionized environment.
- Business acumen, sound judgement, strong analytical skills and multi-tasking.
- Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and best practices.
- Leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Bilingual : English and French (spoken and written) will be considered an asset.
