This role sits within Laurentian Bank.
The incumbent will report to the Data Governance Office and will be primarily responsible for overseeing all aspects of data management within the bank and to lead the organization's data catalog initiatives to establish and maintain a cohesive and effective data cataloging system, integral to the bank's broader data governance strategy and objectives.
You will be key in the enhancement of data accessibility and comprehension, by ensuring efficient utilization across the bank.
This role requires a deep understanding of data management best practices, as well as the ability to develop and implement strategies to ensure the integrity, availability, and security of our data assets.
Responsabilities
- Develop, define, and implement data management policies, procedures, and standardsto ensure data integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Stay current on industry trends in data management and provide guidance and expertise to team members on best practices and methodologies.
- Identify innovative solutions and recommend process improvements and best practices in data accessibility, data comprehension and efficient use of data across the Bank.
- Collaborate with other teams and departments to design, implement and lead data management strategies that support business objectives.
- Ensure effective delivery of value through data catalog governance by facilitating easy access to data, clarifying data origins and processes, and assessing its suitability for various uses.
- Lead and oversee the coordination of activities concerning metadata identification, standardization, and updates within their respective data warehouse tables.
- Develop and publish metrics for metadata completeness and data catalog usage, fostering its wider adoption.
- Develop and publish metrics for Data Governance plan to track progress.
- Lead data integration of critical reports in Collibra with the business stakeholders.
- Acts as a strategic resource for colleagues with regards to data management strategy and analytics.
- Develop training materials and educate users as needed
- Performs any other tasks of a similar nature or of a general nature requested by their superior or required as part of their duties.
Qualifications
- University degree in relevant field
- 10 years of relevant experience.
- In-depth experience of data management.
- In-depth experience of Power BI tool.
- CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional) certification, an asset.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage several tasks simultaneously.
- Know how to prioritize and develop privileged contact with stakeholders.
