About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Zone Manager of Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness (OHSW), the Rehabilitation Consultant actively manages employees absent from the workplace due to illness or injury.
This includes ensuring appropriate documentation to qualify for and maintain illness / injury benefits, helping employees to access available supports, assessing work environments and positions for individuals with limitations, and working with internal and external contacts to facilitate a safe and timely return to work.
The Rehabilitation Consultant remains proactive to ensure the Zone meets legislative requirements in the interest of a safe and healthy work environment.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following :
- Post-secondary degree in a health-related field (Nursing, Physiotherapy, Kinesiology or Occupational Therapy preferred).
- Completion of an appropriate and / or working towards credentials in the fields of Disability Management and / or Occupational Health & Safety preferred.
- Current membership in good standing with relevant professional college.
- Two (2) years’ experience, with specialized knowledge of complex case / disability management.
- Experience in using functional abilities assessments / demands analysis and assessments of cognitive demands / abilities, as tools for return to work.
- Superior critical thinking, research analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, relationship building, facilitation and leadership skills.
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. Occupational Health and Safety Act, Human Rights Code, etc.). Knowledge of healthcare issues and case management trends / best practices.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Internet Explorer, and GroupWise.
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Compensation and Benefits
$35.27 - $44.09 Hourly
