Primary Responsibilities :
- Health & Safety Compliance : Ensure all site activities adhere to Nova Scotia’s health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Risk Assessments : Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement strategies to mitigate risks, ensuring adherence to safe work practices.
- Safety Documentation : Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, incidents, and corrective actions, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
- Training and Mentorship : Lead safety training sessions, providing mentorship to staff on safety protocols and fostering a culture of safety within the organization.
- Collaboration with Site Teams : Work closely with superintendents and site teams to promote a proactive approach to health and safety management.
Job Requirements :
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in health and safety, particularly within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of Nova Scotia’s health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and promote safety culture. Education and Certifications :
- High School Diploma or equivalent, plus recognized safety certifications (e.g., Certificate of Recognition COR , First Aid, WHMIS).
- Clean Driver's Abstract
