We are seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Specialist to join our client's team in Niagara Region. The employer is a full-service electrical contractor with over 25 years' experience in the region.
Your new role
The successful candidate will play a key role in ourmitment to creating and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for our employees.
Responsibilities :
1. Develop and Implement Safety Programs : Create, implement, and oversee safety programs that help ensure a safe workplace.
2. Risk Assessment : Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement preventative measures.
3. Training : Conduct safety training sessions for employees and management.
4. *pliance : Ensure thepany is inpliance with all applicable federal and provincial health and safety regulations.
5. Incident Management : Manage workplace accidents or injuries, and investigate incidents to discover causes and handle worker'spensation claims.
6. Documentation : Maintain detailed records of safety-related incidents andpile reports forpany leadership.
What you'll need to succeed
Qualifications :
1. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
2. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification is preferred.
3. Proven experience in a similar role in the electrical industry.
4. Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.
5. Excellentmunication and training skills.6. Strong problem-solving abilities.
What you'll get in return
This is a FT Permanent opportunity and will be treated as a long-term career growth opportunity. Base salary will range between $65,000-75,000 and your offer will be in-line with your experience.
