Senior Finance Analyst- R&D - Resource Utilisation

As a Senior Finance Analyst R&D, you will support costing processes and systems / tools for GSK’s Global R&D organization (£5bn and an organization of over 10,000).

You will be responsible for the integrity of the Complete Project Costing process along with the oversight and submissions to support Intellectual Property tax submissions, Tax Credit and Benefit opportunities, Government & Industry survey requests, FTE Rate Tables and periodic and ad-hoc analytical requests / reporting associated with FTE project consumption as well as spend across project phases.

You will work across a dynamic Finance team and with stakeholders across R&D and R&D Operations in providing outputs and optionality.

You will also be required to support a changing reporting and data landscape by working through process improvement initiatives.

In this role you will

Be responsible for the integrity of the Complete Project Costing process maps and execution of the process on a quarterly basis.

Including preparation of materials and commentary

Be responsible for standard and ad-hoc analysis of resource / FTE consumption, FTE Rates, cross charging for R&D utilization to other funding markets and other requests

Be responsible for data gathering, analysis, preparation and submission of both Government and Industry based surveys to support company transparency

Support the data gathering, planning, and execution of periodic tax credit and tax benefit planning and actual tracking related to our Vx portfolio

Act as a Subject Matter Expert on IRM FTE Rates by division and role and how they relate to IPE inputs into resource forecasts by project

Be responsible for maintaining data and data relationships all legacy costing information

Continually review processes and systems / tools to identify improvements and opportunities for automation

Be responsible for project work on future data and process improvement initiatives

Review quarterly submissions and complete analysis of planned versus actual consumption of costs (FTEs planned versus actual).

Conduct other activities and / or special projects requiring use of data analytics associated with historical costing information

Basic qualifications :

Min. 5 years of relevant experience

Fully or part qualified (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

Experienced working with senior finance leaders

Advanced English skills

Continuous improvement mindset

Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders in varying roles, locations, and cultures

Preferred :

Power Query, Power BI, SharePoint, PowerApps (desired)

Financial modelling + working with enormous amounts of data

Comfortable working within a matrix environment

Ability to work under pressure
