Job Responsibilities : Generating Electrical and Instrumentation type construction work package and specifications. Demonstrating strong fundamental knowledge of Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering codes and standards.
Knowledge of Hazardous Area classification and markings. Electrical equipment sizing, specification, and selection (pressure / temperature / flow / level indications, control valves).
Single line Diagrams, wiring diagrams. Coordinating details and miscellaneous design criteria with other disciplines. Preparing and / or supervising engineering reports, studies, calculations and checks drawings as required.
Project scoping at client sites. Ensure all engineering solutions can be implemented safely and will perform in a safe manner.
Support business development as part of the seller doer program. Qualifications : Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation & Control Engineering (or related discipline).
Registered Professional Engineer in Alberta (APEGA) 5 years plus experience in the Oil & Gas industry. Experience creating electrical and instrumentation scopes of work and construction work packages, including detailed drawings and specs.
Experience with the application of the Canadian Electrical Code, API, IEEE and ANSI standards in engineering design. Shows initiative and drives cost effective and timely results.
Effective communication skills, and have the ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
Experience in the oil and gas industry an asset, preferably in an EPCM or Owner / Operator environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel is an asset).
SAP. AutoCAD. Demonstrate exceptional critical thinking skills with an ability to identify and anticipate potential risks.
