Southern Alberta Medical is a comprehensive multi-disciplinary Medical Specialty Clinic. We specialize in Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Respirology, and Gastroenterology.
DESCRIPTION :
As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you would be responsible for conducting rest and stress myocardial perfusion imaging, bone density scans and stress testing treadmills for patients under the supervision of the Radiation Safety Officer.

- Maintains a safe and clean environment, and maintenance records
- Understands and adheres to the policies, procedures
- Works in compliance with related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices
- Maintains proper quality control procedures on hot lab equipment and gamma camera
- Drawing, recording and injecting patient doses
- Interviewing patients and recording history
- Setting up IV
- Preparing cardiac stressing agents and antidotes
- Manufacturing, QC and shipping of radiopharmaceuticals
- Performs Nuclear Medicine Procedures, including pharmaceutical preparation, rest and stress myocardial perfusion imaging, bone density scans, stress testing
- Prepares required reports as required for compliance with CNSC regulations
- Storage and disposal of radioactive materials by department regulations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION :
- Must be comfortable with computer software
- Attention to detail with the ability to complete tasks accurately and efficiently
- Self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and critical thinking / problem-solving skills
- Excellent Problem-Solving skills
- Demonstrate adaptability / flexibility
- Successful completion of a recognized accredited Nuclear Medicine program
- Registered with CAMRT, ACMDTT
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certification.

- Comprehensive knowledge of diagnostic Nuclear Medicine procedures and practices
- Must have complete knowledge of the images required for each exam by the Radiologists.
- Knowledge of technical parameters for any examination requested.
- Knowledge of exam storage and retrieval systems.
- Ability to make and implement decisions.
- Motivated and self-directed.
- Ability to perform and think clearly in any situation, including highly stressful or emotional situations.
- Clinical competency in medical nuclear medicine.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
