SSR Mining Seabee Gold Operation (SGO) is hiring for an Environment Advisor .

About Your New Role :

Reporting to the Supervisor, Environment, the Environment Advisor, will be responsible for environmental compliance monitoring and inspections, collection, laboratory preparation and submission of environmental samples, workplace inspections and corrective actions, waste management support functions, accurate data input and records keeping, and file management.

Your Key Responsibilities :

Provide appropriate technical advice and support to operation teams on environmental challenges and standards.

Promote proactive environmental awareness.

Monitor site environmental performance and compliance through sampling, inspections, audits, data analysis, and reporting.

Investigate environmental incidents, including making recommendations and ensuring appropriate corrective actions are developed and implemented.

Identify, develop, and deliver, educational materials regarding environmental initiatives to reduce risk of environmental, personal, and material losses.

Compile and contribute to reports for environmental regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.

Technical knowledge of federal and provincial compliance practices and regulations would be an asset.

Act with a positive attitude towards safety at all times.

Your Knowledge and Skills :

Proven operating record backed by solid technical skills.

Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Strong leadership and coaching skills.

Your Education and Experience :

The successful candidate will have :

Recognized university degree in Environmental studies or a related science program.

Relevant environmental management experience, preferably in the mining industry.

About Our Working Conditions :

This position has a schedule of 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off at our remote camp which you will be required to fly in fly out with pick up points in Saskatoon, Prince Albert and La Ronge.
